In January 2013 we had our old driveway replaced with Cobbletech, a couple of new retaining walls built and a new crazy paving path to match an existing one in the back garden. Darren was professional throughout and had a lovely team of guys who worked in the coldest of conditions. We are very pleased with the quality and finish of our super new driveway.

We needed our drive/side access paved, two small walls built and our garden patio paved. I noticed Darren’s team working on a drive a few streets away as I was driving home from work. I stopped and watched them working and was very impressed. The work was very different to others I had looked at, every cut was perfect and the step into the house was unique. I took there website address and looked at the site later on that same evening. Darren explained perfectly on his site what actually goes into the foundations of his patio’s/drives. I decided I was not looking for anyone else to carry out the work I wanted done. The work was carried out on the exact day I was promised. The team carrying out the work were very polite and professional, nothing was too much for them. The end result was stunning and I am proud to say I have the best drive in the street!. We chose Darren through Checkatrade to replace our old patio and instal a rainwater harvesting system at the same time. The work was all completed very neatly and the recommendations as to the sandstone to be used was spot on. The dreadfully cold weather meant that the job could not be finished as there was a risk of frost getting into the grouting. We were pleased we chose a company that insisted on waiting until conditions were right to finish the job & didn’t charge on regardless.

We originally asked for a new Sandstone patio to rear of the house and block paved driveway. During the course of the job, we decided to replace both the garden paths and the front wall as well. Darren’s team were friendly, polite and courteous, extremely hard-working and happy to discuss any of our concerns or queries at all stages of the work. This was done to a high standard and we have already shown friends and family the finished patio and driveway, which makes our house and garden now look really smart.

This was quite a big project, involving rebuilding walls, a new front drive, a new terrace at the back and to the sides of the house, new feature flower beds, electric gates, glasshouse and integrated lighting at the front and rear.

We have high standards and expectations and Darren was very keen that we were happy with the work that his team carried out and the total cost, and he responded swiftly to any issues. Dave was a very hard worker and Nick came up with some inspired ideas. Overall we love the end result.

Highly recommended. Darren helped us with the initial design, understood our brief and assured us we would get the result we wanted, which we did. A very impressive team replaced our very old crazy paved drive, dug two soak aways and replaced our water main within the time frame and against the weather. We chose the new Cobbletec paving system to match our neighbours.
The work started on time and finished on time. The team of two were punctual, pleasant hardworking and obliging, inviting our comments and suggestions throughout. The delivery of materials was on time and the removal of the spoil was prompt, leaving a clean and tidy work area. Several curves were needed in the paving therefore a number of cut cobbles were necessary, all very neatly accomplished. We are very pleased with final result.

The job carried out was quite major involving generally three workers for a period of five weeks. It entailed removal and replacement of a rear patio, steps to the rear garden, a short length of path to the garden, paths round each side of the house, and the whole of the front drive. The front drive was finished in concrete block paving, the rear and side paths were done in sandstone as was the front doorstep and some pathways at the front of the house. The overall result is very pleasing and worth the inevitable disruption. The workforce were very impressive in terms of their general performance, the skill levels they exercised and flexibility in dealing with the inevitable problems that no one had thought of at the outset.

After the recent heavy rain I noticed that several of my neighbours block paving driveways had pools of water.
Our driveway, laid by Darren Plumridge in early 2010, was completely free of water.
A credit to the workmanship and high standard of installation.
